When to schedule a newborn shoot?

I have had clients ask me when the best time to schedule a newborn shoot.  I think letting your photographer know the end of second trimester or early third trimester is perfect.  Newborn shoots fill up pretty quickly.  So if you book your session it will hold your spot.  Even if your baby comes early or late. If you communicate with your photographer and let her know how the pregnancy is going she will be better prepared to help you.  I usually like to do newborn shoots between 1-2 weeks old.  But if we have a newborn baby who was born too early that number goes right out the door.  So communicating with your photographer as your pregnancy progresses and they will help you get the best end results in your pictures.
